An Argoed council house became known locally as 'The Ghost House' in the locality, due to the phenomena that were reported there.  The occupiers claimed to experience raps, groans and shadowy forms in the house.  However, the phenomena just seemed to "fizzle out".

 

 

In 1992, strange goings-on were reported in a council house at Penylan Road.  Strange noises were heard, objects were apparently thrown through the air and occupants claimed to have been pushed by an unseen force.
