The ghost of a Cistercian monk has been seen in the ruins of the abbey.  It is thought to be the ghost of Twm Celwydd Teg (which means Tom of the Fair Lies).  His name derived from the skill he possessed - the ability to predict the future.  A full account of Tom can be read in "Ghosts and Legends of Wales" by J.A.
